There is
so much to be said for and about color. As a life-long painter and
current student of the
International Association of Color Consultants/Designers(IACC-NA), I
find the subject truly fascinating. According to experts in the
field, color accounts for between 60 and 80 percent of our response
to a place or an object. The effects of color are physical as well
as psychological and its importance in our living and working
environments should not be underestimated.
When choosing colors for any space, it is important to consider the
function of the space as well as the ambiance or mood you wish to
create. While we may enjoy lively conversation and stimulated
appetites in a pumpkin-colored dining room, that same color would
hardly seem restful in the bedroom, and think of the anxiety it
might create in a dentist's office!
Selecting paint colors can be tricky and there is much to be
considered, but oh so much to gain. I don't think any other design
element speaks to people the way color does. The good news: painting
is probably the least expensive way to add beauty and vitality to
your home or place of business.
As a color consultant, I can help you navigate through the seemingly
endless array of paint colors. Working together, we can create a
color
palette that suits your style, your taste, and your personality, and
supports the function of your space.

the mystic realm of color." Hans Holman, artist
